The Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) has arrived in Malta through the U.S. Embassy in Malta and Women Directors in Malta (WDM) in time to celebrate International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month. Driven women entrepreneurs who want to participate in AWE in Malta to bring their entrepreneurial ideas to life are invited to express their interest by March 22, 2021. Participants will have the opportunity to participate in a competition at the end of this training program, which will see some women receive seed money to invest in their businesses.
This U.S. Department of State program provides women entrepreneurs around the world with the skills, resources, and networks needed to start and scale successful businesses. For the first time, women entrepreneurs in Malta will be able to participate in this global entrepreneurship program. Over several months in 2021, participants will have access to a facilitated massive open online course (MOOC). WDM will facilitate the online training and offer networking and mentorship opportunities to support women and help them develop and execute their business plans.
AWE 2021 is committed to providing women the knowledge, tools, and networks they need to grow their businesses. Please refer to WDM’s website (www.womendirectors.org.mt) for further information on AWE in Malta and how to express your interest. The deadline to send your interest to WDM is March 22, 2021.
AWE supports the U.S. whole-of-government effort known as the Women’s Global Development and Prosperity (W-GDP) initiative aimed at advancing global women’s economic empowerment. The U.S. Embassy and WDM recognize the fundamental role that women play as engines of economic growth and development to promote healthy societies.
