U.S. Embassy meets with over 200 students in summer 2017

This summer, volunteers from the U.S. Embassy met with over 200 students aged 6 – 12 attending seven summer schools in Malta and Gozo.  U.S. Embassy staffers traveled to schools in Paola and Zabbar in Malta and Victoria and Xaghra in Gozo, and three summer schools situated in Swater, Zebbug and Mosta visited the U.S. Embassy.

Groups of students learned about American geography and wildlife, and NASA and space exploration.  Other groups spoke with our Marines on how we should stay active and healthy, and enjoyed learning how to play some of America’s popular playground games like kickball.  Each school received books donated to their libraries on behalf of the U.S. Embassy.

The U.S. Embassy’s ongoing school outreach program reaches hundreds of students a year, and supports educational programming and promotes literacy.
